Project Engineer, Construction Services

Summary: The Project Engineer works as part of a construction program management team, managing programs consisting of multiple projects for our multi-site clients. The Project Engineer works with the Client Team and Project Team in various activities related to the successful completion and delivery of the program and project objectives including but not limited to: Surveying and field data collection, pre-construction services (budgeting, bidding, permitting, and scheduling), construction oversight (construction supervision, safety, change orders, invoicing, and punch lists), and project closeout.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and evaluates less complex construction documentation including drawings, schedules, scopes and reports to achieve overall project objectives.
  • Oversees the set-up of project files.
  • Provides on-site review of construction progress against project schedule. Prepare updates and modifications as needed.
  • Monitors job progress in coordination with Project Manager and report on project work in the field.
  • Possesses working knowledge of project reporting and documentation requirements.
  • Provides input to weekly status reports for projects.
  • Prepares and maintains tracking and status reports.
  • Attends and actively participates and/or leads project meetings on behalf of the Project Team as required.
  • Independently conducts punch-list inspections, field surveys and other site visits on behalf of the Project Team as needed.
  • Proactively communicates project related issues directly with Project Team.
  • Maintains and reviews status of all project-related correspondence.
  • Ability to develop relationships with clients, potential clients, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Follows established standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
  • Learns project management skills through exposure to projects and programs.
  • Obtains OSHA 30 safety training and other required training.
  • Project controls, to include submittal management, RFI management, change management, and the managing of daily project reporting.
  • Safety Management, including incident and near miss reporting and the completion of an OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Project Closeout, including completion reports, the consolidation and presenting of O&M manuals to the owner, and warranty program management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-year degree in an accredited construction related program or equivalent; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management.
  • Experience in multi-site projects preferred.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
  • Prioritize and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries.
  • Strong ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the project team including management, project management, clients, client’s organization, contractors, and vendors.

Pay & Benefits:

The anticipated compensation range for the position is $65,000 to $75,000 is based on a full-time schedule, market and business conditions, and is commensurate on individual education, qualifications, and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, flexible paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, and a matching 401K plan.

Work Conditions & Travel:

This is a hybrid role out of our Plano, TX office, with recurring travel* to project locations. Travel required 20-30% on an as needed basis up to and including weekly site visits.
